Quannah Chasinghorse

Its #matriarchmonday and we are thrilled to highlight a rising matriarch and all around baddie,@quannah.rose ! Since she was a youth, Quannah Chasinghorse has been leading in the environmental justice space, protecting sacred lands, and leading in movements for Indigenous rights while speaking up for murdered and missing Indigenous relatives. She has lent her voice and her energy to protecting the Arctic Refuge and she played a pivotal role in the Get Out the Native Vote campaign last year.

Quannah hails from the Han Gwich'in and Oglala Lakota Nations and lives in what is known as Fairbanks, Alaska. Recently Quannah scored the cover of Vogue Mexico where she made us all proud! <3

“The more I learn, the more I can speak confidently and passionately with knowledge,...It’s important to ignore the negativity, and as my aunty said, ‘There are hundreds of Indigenous women and our ancestors standing behind me.’ The support has helped me a lot.” - Quannah
